According to the Stardock newsgroups, skinning of WMP is disabled because of problems with it and WindowBlinds. You could work around this by renaming the Windows Media Player file to something else.

basj...

there is a whole manual at the MS developers website. It goes into great gory detail about skinning and the xml language used. I tried to find the address for you, but they keep moving stuff around

Can someone explain why every time I try a new windowblinds skin, it resets the Media Player skin back to the default? It's quite annoying.

EnsRegis: Mine works fine whenever I change skins. Do you have the shareware version? If so, that my be the problem.

PS. The media player will not hold the all the time because of the conflict, but it does reskin when I change skins. But you have to keep the cursor on it.

I saw WMP for XP and it looked like it was skinned in one of windows designs. I am not sure about windowblinds covering it in XP though.

And yes MS has extencive details as to how the skinning of Windows Media Prayer works. XML, Microsoft's Jscript and some HTML techniques. I am going to try to make some reallt simple skins before I go buck wild and do something like The Skin Factory. (that's allot of work).
