Favorite things to talk about?

I guess it's all hobby-related....Motor Racing, crashing computers with LiteSTEP....that sort of thing...

Erm... I love to talk about senseless stuff.
No kidding, my favorite topic of conversations are about the Big Bang, the expansion of the Universe, the Speed of Light, is time travel possible? That sort of meaningless brain farts.

Computers, all types of computers. From the C64 that I started on to how to set up a SuperComputer. Different OS's can also bring a heated discusion. Cars and such can also come into play.

Politics, and movies (the films themselves not show biz).

I like discussing technology (and how it will evolve...like nanotechnology, quantum computers, etc... )in general. Astrophysics also interests me a great deal. I'm not much into politics (I think most, if not all, politicians are liars - although they may not start out that way) so I tend not to get into political discussions. I do like discussing history, however.

All rather meaningless.

I hate talking about religion. You believe/practice what you want and I will believe/practice what I want. Anything beyond that and it starts to get insulting.

Paxx: As often as we are on oppisite sides of the fence on issues; many of the debates would be boring without you.

hmmm.. science type stuff like black holes and time travel and dimensional variance. definitely history, and especially how history is so often misinterpreted and used to grind axes. [example - the real cortes wasn't a bad guy.. the real aztecs were] computer os's and their pros and cons. art. film. good stories.

The only problem is that I'm not a good real-time conversationalist. Debates are great but I usually can't respond quick enough and therefore am on the losing end of conversations simply on this measure alone. Not that the other person is right, just that they have an answer quicker than I do.

History: It's gone, forget about it.
Politics: Politicians are all the same. In it for themselves.
Women: Wife is still behind me.
Work: For obvious reasons.

Pipe smoker here. Enjoy talking about pipes, pipe tobacco. Any pipers out there. Found out today one of the best briar pipe carvers (Steve Weiner) died today. I know. Tobacco causes death. Well if you gotta go might as well enjoy life while it lasts.

I could talk for hours or days without feeling any fatigue with paxx, DavidK and migellito, 'cause the mention things that I love to discuss, if I knew better English ( ) or if they knew Greek
I also like to talk about the evolution of consciousness and psychology in general.

Jafo, I think you must be a rare breed. How can you go from watching Formula 1 and MotoGP to watching cricket?!!!

What can I say? Observing Eff Ones as they pass you at 110db, 6 feet away doing 180+ mph...and you're supposed to be able to read their numbers, check for oil, smoke, bits hanging off, etc, and all the while keeping an eye out for the ever-present possible bingle....I guess sitting in front of the Telly with a coldie watching Tony Greg sticking keys into cracks and Ritchie Benaud commenting about seagulls has a 'calming, relaxing' appeal....
