Sins of a solar empire cd key

Hi,

I bought sins of a solar empire in the box from a walmart a year or two ago.I have started playing again,but I cannot find the cd key anywhere in the box.Where do I find my cd key for the game?Thanks in advance for any help with this,

I have the original version of Sins, and the CD key was on a sticker above the CD inside of the box. The GotY edition and trinity may be in a different location though.

If you are sure we are talking about the same edition of the game, there are two options.

1. The sticker fell off some time after you purchased it, perhaps for safe keeping.

2. Someone bought the game from Wallmart first, then registered the CD key then returned it. While PC games are now excluded from return policies after being opened now, perhaps that wasn't the case several years ago.
