a vision of the future of OD

now that i can play with plugin's in object bar, i am starting to wonder where i am going to end up.

at first my OB was fairly sedate. but then came the hidden system tray (got to love per icon filtering). next came the dual taskbar, as a way of getting more information into the given space.

the menu tree under the start button just keeps on growing.

but plugings now i can have a mutliline graph embedded in next to my system tray. i am bound to think of more plugin's to embed given time.

the pattern? ever increasing information density.

so, if physisists (<- Jafo? a fernetic spelling, obviously wrong, but sounds good ) are to be beleived, then the ultimate in information density is a black hole. so, the logical conclusion is that i will eventually replace my desktop environment with a layered selection of black holes.

so, any time scale for an alpha release of Object Singularity?

Feline, excuse my ignorance, here but are these plugins you've developed or are they downloadable Stardock plugins?

i also couldnt find plugin's at first.

one easy way is as follows:

add a new shortcut item to an existing OB theme (in the theme editor).
now select this shortcut
on the behavior tab, change the class of the item to plugin
hit the "select a different plugin" button, and then configure it.

however, i strongly recormend upgrading to OB 1.20a via component manager first, since its plugin handling is a LOT more stable.

as for downloading them, try the SDTaskManager plugin in the DX plugin's section here. embedded graphs!

When I see the word "JavaBrain" I envision a big coffee cup with a brain and eyes, oozing out the top, like some weird 50's scifi movie.
