Do we need to uninstall the old version?

It should work if installed over the old version, though I believe it will require a reboot.

We're doing it specifically to annoy you.  The fact that it's good business is just a happy side effect.  :P

All I need now is windowblinds for windows 8 to give me transparent title bars again and I'm in.

Awaiting descscape port too for that extra UI warm and fuzzy feeling but that's second on my list.

Hell Jafo, I'm still trying to get past the precise placement of the right edge of the dock. BRILLIANT!

Jafo : What version of VBox is that ? The guest additions didn't play nice with my Win 8 at all. Had to uninstall them.

Carl ...it's 4.1.8.r75467 ....  Since installing it reminds me of updates but I haven't bothered yet as it's working fine with 8 which was what it was for...;)

thank you Jafo currently testing it indeed better than before

A wonderful app that will help a lot of people to "live" with Windows 8

I'll 'live' without w8. Saves me  alot of headache. Wake me up when it's cleaned up, i.e. the kindergarten gui has been dumped.

ok after testing start8 for a whole day i have to say i no longer need cs you did a good job... start 8 is great and it gives you a nice windows 7 feeling - still i would like to see it a bit polished startmenu graphics (edges) could be rounded up a bit for a free program this is absolutely nice
You can even make your own startbutton for it...  I dont know if that was possible in the previous version
