I would think the rebel factions ought to be different from the loyalists like different ships and structures. Is there a mod I havent heard thata re working on making the rebel factions more unique?
I'm working on something.. Here's a rough draft of what I have planned. I may add or remove things as I go along. Things with // are things that have been decided against at this time, things with > are on hold, and things with - are done.
Well I thought he meant some totally new ships, so that would mean needing to make some new models.
Adding in new ships would be something that I'd be interested in provided I had assistance. For now, I can only change stats/entities of existing ships/techs or add new ones.
Yeah new ships, i mean 3 new factons in rebellion, not really, just same ships different titan and different faction stats. i feel like the company took a shortcut with the new game.
Well to be fair, even games that I think did this better like Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour, only added a handful of totally different units (say 3) per faction. But it was enough to make them play totally different. I too have made each faction have frigates with different stats or abilities, but there is only a few guys like Maelstrom who are really good at making models from the art style of Sins. That's the main barrier I think, who wants to add totally new units if they don't look or fit in as well?
thats a good point. It would be awewome if some billionaire kid is a huge fan of this game and decides to just give each of the top modders a handful of money to get some good mods finished/added/
