Am I missing something?

Hi all! First off I am pretty new to XP AND WindowBlinds. I have downloaded WB and have had no luck using it.

I have downloaded two skins from this site and they go directly to my temporary internet folder (doesn't give me the option to save it anywhere else). When I click on those files, they are only previews of the skins.

And if I go into Display Properties to Appearance and click on WB it tells me "You must be using a WB Skin first". Well, if I can't download one how can I first be using one?

Am I really dumb or am I just missing something. Like I said I am pretty much new to all of this so hopefully I'm just missing something.

Thanks in advance - this is driving me crazy!!

Try this, right-click on the download link and select 'save target as' to download the file to your desktop. Then use the 'add' button to install the skin. That should work every time.

Well actually, it goes to your temp file but I beleive it saves it with your windowblinds settings.

this is what to do.
click on the skin you want and let it auto download.
Now right click on your desktop and go to properties.
Choose the label Skins and in the drop box, search for the skin you just chosed(make sure to read the name of the title before downloading!).
It should be there:)

Windowblinds is made to give us an easy life:) We love you WB

Actually, eXeon, this works a little differently on XP than in 2000. For one thing, XP doesn't get a Skins tab in Display Properties. Instead, WindowBlinds adds options to the Appearance tab. Also, right-clicking and choosing "Save as .." is currently the easiest way to do it with XP. When you just click the link, the skin is downloaded into your temp folder, but it is not added to WB.

I think that you are actually downloading correctly. i think where you went wrong was choosing the "WindowBlinds" button. If you do not choose a skin first (from the pull down menu to the left of that button) WindowBlinds is not activated and the "WindowBlinds" button is useless. You can use the "add" button to add skins, however.
