WindowsBlinds 3.3 and Photoshop on XP

When I resize or drag a window in Photoshop the tool I am using turns into a standard arrow cursor and I cannot work on the image unless I close it and re-open it. Even then, if I drag the window again, it does the same thing. Needless to say I have put photshop in the exclusiion list.

Internet explorer also has problems displaying text and many images only when Windows Blinds is active. Considering that I'm doing images for the web, I use mainly Photoshop and Internet Explorer on this machine and excluding both of them from WindowsBlinds defeats the purpose of having purchased it altogether.

I saw some brief discussion of these items on the message boards, but no resolution for the problems. I have uninstalled and reinstalled WindowsBlinds already hoping it was an installation bug with no luck. Is there an upgrade in the works that will address these problems? Is there a fix in existence already that I haven't found yet? Any help would be appreciated.

I.E. should work okay - I'm not sure what would cause the problem you're seeing there. But Photoshop, being an Adobe program which was originally written for the Mac OS, has some quirks with Windowblinds. I've found that using a UIS1 skin works fine with PS (and Illustrator too). The problem is finding a UIS1 that isn't a sub-skin which doesn't work on a per-app setting. I'm using an old copy of Flute+. I wish people that made UIS1 versions of their skins would release them separately rather than as a sub-skin to the UIS2 version, that makes it unselectable as a per-app and thus, it probably never gets used.

WebBlinds suffers from the same problem of not using/selecting sub skins for IE. I wonder if StarDock are going to make it so you can? I hope so.

Ok, another question then. With all the tweaking that must be done for WindowsBlinds to function well, , ,why is it considered so much better than those ThemeXP "Visual Styles"? Aside from roll up windows of course.

Windowblinds functions absolutely fantastic right out of the box. Plus it does so much more and so much better than those "styles" you refer to that it doesn't deserve to be compared.

It does alot more, when it works, I'll give it that. I am still having troubles with Photoshop even after excluding it from WB. Microsoft Office apps are crashing on me as well, so I excluded those. Now the only things that I use regularly thatare skinned are I explorer and outlook.

Does anyone know if there is an update coming that will address these issues?

Try getting some help at the Windowblinds newsgroup. They'll want to know what your system consists of, what version of WB you're running and specifics about the problem. I'm not having any of the difficulties you describe but it sure sounds like you've got a corrupt installation of WB. You can find the newsgroup here: news://news.stardock.com/stardock.windowblinds There's a separate binaries group if you want to post a screenshot and a development group for alpha and beta version questions.

Flibberty, do you have cursor xp installed too?
I had the same prob as you with PS 6, and I cured it by disabling cursor xp.
