The great, talented author with the gift of incredible imagination and story telling ability is gone, I'm sorry to say.

His grandson posted on his death on iO9 (ext. link). Mr. Bradbury was an endless source of reading for me along with Isaac Asimov, Pohl Anderson and Robert A. Heinlein... all gone now.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Bradbury... and thanks for your many gifts to us all.

My Grandmother belonged to a book club.  She would always pick his books if they were offered. Then when I was reading, I read her Ray Bradbury books...probably where my love of Science fiction came from.

X(   And another loss -- he was one my top 5 authors, definitely wrote works that I will remember for as long as I live, stories that were so memorable I made sure my children learned them early, and are among my children's favorites, also.  This just piles up and makes more pain--not as bad as losing Dad last month, but still the end of a long run of wonderful stories to read, still more to grieve.
