Help!!!....please

These may be the most dumb questions ever asked, but I have never had any training, nor have I ever tried to do the things I am trying to do now with Obj.Dsk and I am only a little computer literate-but I love a challenge! First, I have been dowloading files with Down Load Accelerater Plus, when I do the file is not given it's suffix. So it's a guessing game for me to try to figure out which program opens the file. I do NOT understand the Asociation Wizard (it confusses me more). Even when I use my donload program most of the time I do not know which extensions belong to what-Is there a list of extensions that are often used with OD? I have downloaded some of the blinds and I have configured all of the programs in OD, but the blinds will not load properly. How do you use the blinds feature? What is the extension for Wallpaper- and how, when you save things to each individual program do they all come together (like wher is the folder that I store Wallpaper in- is it Windows Blinds or in WinStyles? I downloaded several wallpapers from deviantart.com and all of them are missing the extensions, and I'm not sure "what program opens this file"... Is there a beginners tutorial or something...yes, I have read all of the Help documents as well as the ones for each program online- there are just some detailed things I am clueless about. I know this request is long, but I would GREATLY appreciate some help.- Oh, and lastly (yea another one) I messed around with WebBlinds and even though I can change the skins on it, it loaded several additional buttons to the menu bar that I don't want ther- and I've tried all I know to delete them, have any ideas? Thank you sooooo much for your help. Scoot1

yikes...

first thing you need to do is get rid of your download accelerator. Any file you download should have an extension. Make sure you don't have that switch in "view" checked that says don't show file extensions for registered file types.

Wallpapers are just images, you right-click on it and select set as wallpaper or desktop or something like that.

the rest of the files here all work with some software. If you have Object Desktop, then you should have Windowblinds and most of the other programs. Windowblinds skins load through the display properties dialog box. Go to 'Appearance' select a skin from the list and click 'apply'. After you get that working the rest should be easy... (avoid Litestep until you feel more comfortable with how this stuff works...)

Thank You!! After I left that message I found a hand written page where I had documented all of the file extensions associated with each program...Duh! I was very worried about applying Window Blinds, but I am getting comfortable with the WinStyles(?) program, so I understand what you are talking about with using it through display properties. You know I'll have to try it all night tonight. I appreciate your time and input it has been very helpful, Thank You! By the way, where do you store your wallpaper downloads, in the WinSuites section or a temp. folder until you use them? Oh, and I will also not download with DAP again, or I'll make sure it's configured correctly. Well, I'm running on again! Thanks again for your help, it is really appreciated!
