Cool, Original, Non-Mac Icons?

I am trying to come up with some cool Ideas for a new sires of Original Icons for XP, It seems that almost all the good Folder Ideas are being stolen form OSX, even my FauxS-XP Icons have a OSXish look despite my best intentions. My question is dos anyone have any ideas for a Original type of Folder, or theme. Something that will take advantage of XP’s new Icon capabiltys.

ideas i've had for folders [i've seen some of these used, too]

cardboard boxes
fruit crates
filing cabinets
kitchen cupboards
books or notebooks
beakers and other lab equipment
toolboxes or fishing tackle boxes
doors, hallways, etc.

i'll keep thinking.. good luck paul

glass beakers (lab equipment) might work quite well.

there was a rather nice "science" theme in the origional win95 plus pack that used that idea.

I think a box might look good. What about those cardboard magazine/book holder thingys which you see in offices etc.

What about a 1920's based icons. I always wanted a rolltop desk. Artdeco is one of my favorite styles. Although I am not sure how you would do icons in that style.

paul, i know we have a mutual appreciation for the silmarillion. how about some detailed portraits of characters, places and things from the book as icons?

what about flowers? some of them (tulips?) look like containers from the right sort of angle.

also, what about vortecies? i started of thinking of those line diagrams of black holes you see now and then. broadening the idea slightly introduced whirlpools and twisters also, which have a similar shape.
