Oldest pet?

What is the oldest pet that you have or have ever had?

I have a box turtle that I got when I was 15-16 years old. It was an old turtle then (roughly 30 years old we estimated). I'm now 30 and still have that turtle which would make him around 46 years old and 15 years that he's been with me - through highschoool, college, various places at college, various places after college. A very well traveled turtle.

I have one of those aqua-baby frogs someone gave me, I've had that for over 2 years now, surprised at how long that thing has lived, frogs don't tend to do very well in captivity (which is why I'd never buy one).

Isn't that a African Dwarf water frog? You would think that "Frogboy" would know the actual classification of his frog

My husband had a 19 or 20 year old cat (they are still debating how old "Crackers" was when he died.) He was a tough cat. by the time he died, he could only see out of one eye, had half an ear missing, and only had 3 teeth- all from fighting. I've really only had dogs, and none of them have lived past 13 or so.

Well the only pet I've ever been able to keep to a ripe old age was a Hamster named Tina Turner and she died on me and I cried for 2 weeks over that stupid hamster

but I believe they only live for 2-3 years?

I currently have a 3 year old tuxedo cat who loves to climb inside any appliance that she can gain access to, and a 17 year old tabby. Both cats I rescued from the jaws of death.

I have 2 water turtles. Not very old tho one is growing like the incredible hulk. Also have 5 cats hehe. Oldest is now 12. Hes quite playful and youthful. 6 months ago he was diagnosed with diabetes. I have to give him insulin twice a day but hes doing great it seems. Once in awhile he gets tremors where is paw or leg will shake if hes holding a paw up while laying down. Other than that hes a spry cat. And looooves his catnip. So 12 years would be my answer. Well 4:39 am i think its time to crash. I'm sitting here typing about my cat hehe. Good night.

The oldest pet I've had was a big black cat named Strider. He belonged to a friend and followed him to our house one day and decided he would rather live with us, which turned out to be a good thing for everyone because our friend moved to Japan a month later. Strider was about 4 years old when he moved in with us and lived to the age of 17.

I'm glad to see several people here have old cats. They develop so much personality as they get older.

they sure do David. Even after a few years they have their own quirks and habits.
