How do I: Assign a background to windows explorer and/or make the background semi-transparent?

I own the object desktop suite. I'd like to change the appearance of the Windows Explorer background. Is there a way to assign a gif or bmp as the background image for Windows Explorer (not IE)? Secondly, is there a way to make the Windows Explorer background transparent?

Thanks!

In WinXp MS broke it. I believe the developers are still looking at how to get around it.

If you are using a differant OS then it will be in the WB configurating settings.

That's interesting because I was sure I was able to do this with a different version of Windows. I concluded that MS probably took it out in XP because it was not a popular feature but I believe that your answer, MS broke it, is the more likely conclusion

Thanks, Griffinme!

The last few days I have been playing with WindowsFX which came with the WindowBlinds suite. I did find that I could make explorer windows transparent but my system ran so slowly, it made the utility unusable.

Oh well, I'll keep looking...

Oh yes, I forgot about FX. I haven't used it much for the same reasons you mentioned. I am using a very slow computer. A k6 250.

Glad I could help.
