Msgboard Chatroom Marathon

Honestly, I would go to IRC for this kind of stuff, but if any of you have been there recently, everyone seems to be...inactive. Sooooooooo, out of boredom, I'm turning a thread among this msgboard into a chat room, anyone care to join? =P.

It's Sunday night, and I'm bored out of my mind. There's much to do, but I'm too lazy to get around to do it. My boyfriend is busying trying to get Visual Studios to work so I can't talk to him on the phone....and we can't seem to talk over the phone anyways...it'll just be silence mostly.

New Semester started........so anyone alive out there to join Elffie in this chat marathon? =P

Let's try not to let this post hang for over 2 hours, hm? =P

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo????????????

/me thinks we need to organize search parties. One on the suspicion that feline's old computer is holding him hostage for getting that new computer. One for OC, his fossils are calling him. And one for FL... because he is over due for his spanks. And for KG too! (though if we set a trap with mocha java coffee... we might catch her easy.

well, the reason i havent been around more is that i have been off work for the week, with a compination of a bad cold (verting on the flu at times) and now a very sore shoulder! thankfully this is healing, but i was nearly crying from the pain when it first showed up.

i think the cold was brought on by stress at work, and all the stress over the computer problems *sigh*

well, i am now rubbing large amounts of deep heat into my shoulder every couple of hours, and that seems to be helping

so appart from working on getting better, i have been getting all the software i need installed onto my new PC, and sorting through the 37 machine transfer, weekly backups and emergency backup CD's i have collected since these computer issues started.

the backup machine kept on running out of HD space, so my files got into something of a mess. /me has found that sorting through 37 cd's full of overlapping and evolving backups is quite a lot of work!

I'm just getting over the flu. Everyone I know has it, and most blame me for passing it on They're all croaky and I'm fine hehehe.

Backups are a good thing. I will never be without. Numerous cds with 30Gb, 80Gb and 160Gb drives having various drive images on. Seems excessive (obsessive...) but I lost everything once - won't happen again.

/me decides to try out my prefered flu cure on fuzzy
/me figures that by handcuffing fuzzy to JavaBean in a nurses outfit, he will be healthy and happy!

also, while he is distracted, i can perform a quality assurance test on his chocolate

fuzzy, i know exactly what you mean about backups! loosing a load of stuff to a HD crash was bad! i dont intend to have that happen again.

that is one nice thing about my new PC, it has a DVD+RW drive in it, so when i work this out, i can make large backups now and then

Got the car back today Final bill £646.20 aaaaagh!!! The engine sounds amazingly quiet though, just like new.

Hate busses. Took up two seats yesterday. I got my right knee into the corner sitting slightly sideways, back into the seat and left leg at right angles across the seat next to me. To sit straight the seat in front would have had to move forward 3-4"

/me concludes busses were made for dwarfs...

Mmmm DVD-RW. =4.7Gb backups. Might get one of those sometime and dump the CD-RW. They're a bit small really. That's why I have all these hard drives - cheap and big.

O' I found that if you have "Nortons System Works". It has a program called "Ghost". I was told by my teacher at school that this is one of the best backup programs he has ever used. He's been dealing and teaching computers since they started so I sortof believe his opinion over alot of other things. Since he most likely has tried alot. Just to let you know. I have the program but never tried it. And it backups to disk but can fit alot on one disk by compressing it.

Ok, That's all I have to say for now

O', I hope you feel better from the flu and everything else is wrong. I haven't gotten the flu yet *knocks on wood*. I see the doc tomorrow and I have to get my flu shot while I'm there. What fun..

Alrighty. Night.

Yup, used to use Ghost. Switched to Powerquest Drive Image cause the interface is easier to use (needed a new version for XP anyway). And that works fine. Takes just 20mins to restore 30Gb of stuff. Wouldn't be caught without it.

Me too Especially today. It's raining heavily for the first time in months.
We were going to get rain, but I don't know where it went. When I go outside I smell smoke, and no one here would have a fireplace or anything. I wonder if it came from California? I read they finally got a little rain and some fog.

Everybody thinks the long warm dry summers we get these days are great, but some of our local resevoirs are nearly empty. A few weeks of hard rain are needed to get things back to normal.

Sight, 08:00 - time to start work...

Even here in Hawaii we are in draught conditions half the time. We haven't had a good enough rainy season for a few years....

/me waves fuzzy off to work.

I should go to bed. Things are still all up in the air here. One minute I think things are solved, maybe. And then maybe not.

One thing I did was to get a disposable camera, that will give a digital print out. So if all goes well, you will see my beach, my roof, my 'office'... but not me.

Heh... never post when you are this sleepy, you ramble too much.
