i would like to report that the SDScroller DXPlugin sample no longer scrolls, and never seems to receive a SD_COMMAND message either! /me wonders if this is why it doesnt seem to be available for download any more

this means i may have to find some other way of adding a config box to my plugin, once i work out how to make it get a message.

i did consider emailing you this bug report, but i thought it would be more fun to use it to distract fuzzy logic

Feline, there may be a lot of those old plug-ins that are broken now with the new DX.  Martin Conroy (I think he just calls himself "Martin" on here), PJPowell, and (of course) MadIce probably are more than willing to give you some help and inside tips on it.  They have been working on this stuff a *long* time and know way more about it than I do.  (I'm interested in what you are doing, btw )

i was only looking at that plugin as a shortcut way of learning how to make a plugin popup a config window

i considered learning windows programming from a book, one of those that starts right at the begining with all the basic stuff you need to know. however, that just sounded booring

so instead i am learing windows programming by writing DX (and hopefully KLP) plugins

sometimes the learning curve is quite steep

/me has developed a "cunning" plan

if anyone is interested, i will look into making this real. so far i am making good progress with a program that opens and then closes the CD-ROM tray i am working on the theory this is the fastest way to get KLP fixed

i was thinking that this makes the computer look like it is sticking its tounge out at you. so, i got to wondering, how about making a *RASPBERRY* DX object?

at the basic level all this needs is the ability to open the CD-ROM, play a *RASPBERRY* noise, show a few frames of a *RASPBERRY* being blown, and then close the CD-ROM again.

this way we can instruct fuzzy to press this when ever we feel the need to blow a *RASPBERRY* at him

of course, i am a fair way off knowing how to do this, but that can be resolved with time

cool, many thanks some of this i have already worked out, thanks to a useful chunk of code i was able to find at Microsofts site in one of the technical documents.
