i give in

i give in
i have been fighting off the demon hoards of hell for a while now, but while i was looking the other way stardock pulled a fast one, and out flanked me
/me *sigh*

it all started when the winXP beta's arrived at work. at first most of the office was going on endlessly about how it was so useless and bloated, taking time out to complain that i was slowing down my work machine terminally by running window blinds. this was irritating, but after a while i got used to it.

then XP was released, and most of these people ended up upgrading. suddenly they wont shut up about how good it is!

what was worse, was they all wanted to know when i would upgrade, and get all these *wonderful new features* that win2k didnt offer me.

when i said i would upgrade if / when XP offered me something i wanted, *they* went on endlessly about the better stability (why do you think i am running win2k?), the new start menu, and the luna skins
/me AAAGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

i already use object bar, and hate the new start menu, since it is far to large on the resulutions i use.

need i comment on the luna look?

so it has become a war of attrition with the demon hoards, but i was winning!

i recently found myself in the logons secion by mistake, and wavoured. however, the killing blow was IE scroll bars in WB 3.15.

since i am about to upgrade, i think i am just going to have to try getting XP with the new box.

now the real problem is how to aviod these people thinking i gave in because of them, when it was really stardock's doing. especially since they havent yet discovered that luna can be bettered.

Just ensure that you get your box set up skin wise before they see it's running XP.. Then they will most likly never know the difference..

That's the idea, I have XP at work and home but, most of my friend and coworkers that see my computer have no idea what system I'm running because of the everchanging themes. such as right now I'm running jtfolden's OB theme H2O_pro with a Slim T skin ( in progress).

Just put a DesktopX theme on your box and they will never know what you are running. Tell them it is a knew OS, and hae them confused forever. I have a hard time remembering what Windows originally looked like now.... I really confused one of my co-workers one day. I tiled a wallpaper. I then made objects that were the same size as the tiles. I put the objects in line with the tiles, hid everything on my desktop. It looked like explorer crashed and only left my wallpaper. I knew where the objects were- nobody else did. It was entertaining for the first couple hours...
