Installed windowblinds 7.3 but shows 7.2

Hi.

I am having a problem trying to install Windowblinds 7.3 properly. But upon checking the status of it, it always says that "windowblinds is not installed correctly on this pc". And yes, i did restart my computer after installation but its still the same. Here:

I am using Windows XP with all the latest windows updates installed.
These are the steps that i have taken to uninstall and then reinstall:

1) Use Ccleaner to uninstall windowblinds
2) Restart computer,
3) Check C Drive Program Files for any windowblinds folder. If have, delete.
4) Went to "regedit" to check for any windowblinds registry, from both HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE under Stardocks registry folder. If have, delete "Windowblinds" registry folder.
5) Download from: https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/ to install Windowblinds 7.3
6] Restart computer

However, it still says the same thing "windowblinds is not installed correctly on this pc".

I have googled for a solution for this and came across one, which says to try using Impulse [GameStop] to check for any updates after installing Windowblinds. But there is nothing to update!

Why is this happening??? :(

Do this first. Open control panel to programs and features. Wait till it populates the list then scroll down to where it says windowblinds. It should list the version number that is installed. If it says 7.2 then post here the About Windowblinds info. When you downloaded the Windowblinds installer package did you mouse over it? That too should give the version number.

First, Impulse will not help as it is no longer the download and update platform used by Stardock as it was sold to GameStop several months ago. If you don't have games you play through it there's no point in having it.

You can try to remove it with the following utility:  http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/odnt_zapper.exe

Download it to your desktop, then double click it. Make sure you choose your pre install desktop and apply it first.

I think at this point you probably need the help of [email protected] .

When you write, refer to this post with its url. Then wait until you hear back from an actual person since if you write again before that, your query will be kicked to the end of the queue.

I have a feeling the version number is simply an error on XP as the date on the dll seems to fit in with 7.3.

The other issue should be unrelated.

Did you previously use a WindowBlinds trial?

Don't bother using the zapper. If you had the trial version installed in the past, you won't be able to re-install another trail.

It's time to make up your mind: either buy a subscription to Windowblinds or forget it.
