Most people find them annoying. I don't mind them if they are short, sweet, and appropriate for the skin. All in all I'd rather not have them.

I don't add sounds because I don't usuall have the volume on my speakers turned up loud enough to hear them. Also they would add size to the download...

I'd really miss having no sounds in my skin (that's why I kept pushing Neil to fix 'em in UIS1/1+ ). I say do keep them short, but put them in - the user can always turn them off. Size is an issue - but the effect can be minised by converting to suitable format (22k, mono is usually good).

I love sounds just as long as they are tastefully done and not to loud.

I hate sounds, that's why I never put any in my skins.

I dislike the sounds as well. Usually because I'm listening to music on my PC at I work and I don't need to here "glorps", "bloops", "glongs", "shwishes", and "klangs" in the middle of a song.

For me, it's because if I wanted a skin to make noises, I'd lick my thumb & rub it against the monitor.

Same rule applies for websites, and pretty much everything except for term emulators & audio players.

I turned off the sounds in WB and IE because I find them irritating... especially on websites and emails... arrggh!
