Start 8 Reviewed by Tech Republic

Stardock’s newest app to make Windows 8 more usable for desktop and tablet pc users was reviewed by Matthew Nawrocki on his blog over at TechRepublic.

He has immediately adopted Start 8:

“I immediately adopted this add-on for Windows 8, since it does wonders for working within the new interface and it makes Windows 8 a good bit more tolerable to use. Who knows, perhaps Microsoft may pay heed to Stardock’s tweak and officially reincorporate the Start button back in before Windows 8 releases to the masses.”

For those trying out the “Consumer preview” of Windows 8, I’d recommend heading over to Stardock to get a free app that’ll make life with Windows 8 easier!

Doesn't look like Windows 8 is for me, I'll keep Windows 7...it is by far the best Windows ever!

i think the metro UI works much better than start8, it seems very buggy, at least on my install.  i can't seem to scroll through apps at all with a mouse

MichaelG04, have you talked with Support? If not, I'd recommend doing so. Also...which version of Windows 8 are you using?

That's a correct approach.

It's kind of a halfway point between the old start menu and the Metro Start screen.  It's not trying to turn back the clock, but ease the burden of such a drastic change.

That's how I see it, anyway.
