Skinning tutorial

I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop 6. Been giving some thought about trying my hand at skins. Are there any tuturorials about graphical techniques for making skins? Not how to make a skin; a tutorial on some of the photoshop techqniues that are commonly helpful.

Thanks in advance.

This would be a good Teknidermy artcle, a summation of various places to get graphics tips for common GUI elements.

Plus a lot of the Photoshop tips can be adapted to PSP.

Me? Nope. I just have a REALLY generous father. He got it for me as a Christmas gift I would never have spent the cash otherwise.

Great site that explains alot of the technical stuff the filters and settings do and mean.
It is a breath of fresh air after some of the "do this with these settings. Now do this with those settings." They explain why you use that effect and why it causes this change.

If Tek doesn't do a round up of this, I'll try to put something together. This is excellent stuff.
