Robert, my only suggestion is to be very carefully aware of the established skinning sites' policies relating to copyright infringement.
Your product links to Boomgames.com, which has had a less than entirely successful track-record in the proper policing of art theft, both with logon scrren artwork, and also with stylesXP 'themes'.

We've seen some recent inquiry into possible copyright infringement issues with some of the themes contained on this website. As a result, I feel I need to clarify a few things with the community and skin authors as well.
A copyright enables the copyright-holder to prevent unauthorized whole or majority copies of the original work from being made. A copyright does not prohibit all future persons from creating a work inspired by the original work.

There seems to be a lot of confusion in the skinning community recently. WindowBlinds is a Stardock product that can be used to modify the look and feel of Windows. TGT Soft created a product called Style XP that lets you accomplish the same thing without paying $20. As a result, a lot of authors have been creating Style XP themes that look similar to WindowBlinds themes. Whether or not this is morally right is beyond the scope of this document; however, unless original artwork in the WindowBlinds theme was taken and directly copied to create the Style XP theme, the new theme does not constitute an example of copyright infringement. In such an instance, we are not legally required to remove said theme from this site.

Should you come across a theme you think truly demonstrates copyright infringement, please observe this procedure:


Get in touch with the original author and the author of the theme in question;
Collect materials used to create both themes to show that they were indeed copied;
Contact [email protected] to advise us of the issue.
Please allow ten business days for us to respond to all complaints.

This goes a long way towards repairing the initial policy fault that enabled blatant ripping to occur.
The clearest of all incidents was a 'Lost Souls' logon theme using a wallpaper created by Nuvem and posted by someone else without permission.

I personally find the concept of a 10 working day period to wait for a response to be just a little too long, the damage is being done in real 'net' time....24/7....and demands a much faster response to minimize hurt and degradation of property rights.

Lost Souls [the rip] was downloaded quite a lot before the site owner could be convinced that he was inadvertently propagating a criminal act.
Aiding and abetting copyright theft is not a joke....it 'can' be a profitable business, but it is not a joke. [just ask Napster].

For your part, it would be wise to help support the rights of the artists whose works your proggy will be using/helping by stressing the community's concern about copyright and its misuse.

Other than that, I'll drag out my copy of Res-hacker and have another go at the Logonui....[my first was 'not good']....
