Are Past Mods Compatible with Rebellion?

Are mods that havn't been updated for Rebellion compatible with Rebellion in any way?

no

mods usually get broken within an expansion with each update, and do not cross expansions without a LOT of work by the modders.

also we (the modders) do NOT have ANY reference files yet for rebellion, so can NOT start modding rebellion

Is there any way I could create maps in the current Galaxy Forge and port them to the rebellion format? Everything I've tried has failed so far :/

Rebellion also uses a new map format, they're going to need to update the GalaxyForge first. That said you can still use the in game map designer or modify already made Rebellion maps in notepad.

and I HAVE used maps I created with the galaxyforge 3 in rebellion during my limited testing of it, so mapversion 3 is usable, and rebellion uses the SAME galaxyforge & mapdesigner folders as vanilla, entrenchment AND diplomacy, so go play the maps

Entitys, Shaders, and Mesh files are a little different in Rebellion. So trinity mods will not work in rebellion. The Forge toolset will have to be updated to be rebellion compatible. Which means there "should" be new versions of Galaxy forge, Particle forge, ConvertData, and ConvertXSI.

Good thing is rebellion is stand alone, and the last planned expansion. So we wont have to worry about older trinity files messing us up.

we just have to worry about newer rebellion files messing it up.  HAHA

Will be interesting to see just how different entity structure is from entrenchment/diplomacy to rebellion.

Here's to the vain hope of a transition tool!
