Anyone @home?

Are there many @home subscribers here? Just wondered how it's going for you.

I had AT&T @home service in Oregon so I got switched to AT&T's broadband service which has about half the speed, an upload cap of 128Kbs and some serious DNS problems. (plus I lost my email address of "weekends@home" )

I had a lot of trouble getting my network back online so if you're having any problems with an ICS or router connection you might want to try this; get the DNS server addresses for your area and put them in the TCP/IP setup for the modem's nic, then set a DNS suffix of attbi.com on all the nic's on your system. That was the only way I could get internet and POP3 access on all my machines.

How's your upload speed? Anyone know a way to increase the upload cap a bit?

I think the number of positive replies to this quite visually indicates the current status of the @home network.

Still fine on Comcast (Huntsville, AL). 128K upstream, and I've tested to 3Mbit down.

I worry how Comcast's own network will behave/perform when they get switched over.
