A belated Thanksgiving to our Northern Neighbors (oh wait, parts of Michigan are actually north of Windsor, well our neighbors anyway) and happy days to all.

Not to mention, Greece, the cradle of civilization! Nikos, will you come visit us in February when it snows?

What are the four seasons in Michigan? Early winter, winter, late winter and next winter! Thats okay, though. Gives us plenty of time to skin!

I know it is difficult for you in February, but
I am not talking about the weather Larry, Greece has one of the best’s climatologic conditions in the world, I am talking about "quality of life".
According to research from United Nations those 2 countries have the maximum quality of life from all the other countries in the world, did you know that? I have visited both and I totally agree with this research.

Thank you for your invitation Larry

Yes, adni, I knew that. Canada gets the #1 spot every year according to that UN ranking system, and our federal governement likes to boast about it. But it's actually funny, and it just shows how governments just pick on stupid things to boast how great their administration is: according to UN themselves, that classification was put in place to measure the quality of life in third world countries and it's totally absurd when applied to developped countries. In order to determin which third world country has the biggest problems, how it improves or worsen every year, it takes a number of data into consideration, such as - of course - number of clinic/hospitals, cost of living, access to education, etc., but also other kind of data such as the number of telephone poles, number of paved streets, access to fresh water, etc.
The difference between 1 telephone pole/50,000 people and 1 telephone pole/5,000 could indeed be a factor in determining the quality of life, but when that difference is between a 1:100 ratio and a 1:75 ratio, it really doesn't mean anything. Same goes for a number of factors used in that study.

So yeah sure, we do have a nice quality of life, but I'm not so sure it's so much better than in the US, Australia, France or Great Britain.

Er, paxx....a telephone 'pole' has wires on it...and the odd bird.....methinks you mean 'poll'.....Spell checker

No, actually, I meant "pole". As strange as it seems, they use that as a factor to measure the development of a third world country.

I didn't know Canada was a third world country...........

Hey paxx,
Having all, never is enough for the human race, they always want more and more and it is natural, otherwise will be no evolution.
