noob Question

Getting StarteD

Ok, I've been registered on the forums for quite a while apparently, but I don't think I've posted :)

That being said, can someone point me to some useful how-to docs? I've been scouring the net, and youtube, and the forums, and I can't seem to find (although I'm sure I missed them somewhere) Useful information on gettnig things to work.

I'm looking at a particular skin, but when I apply it with WindoBlinds, it messes EVERYTHING UP, so I end up having to uninstall. then I go back to the DL page, and I see extra links for other parts of it, but I have no idea where these components go, or how to implement them.

In short.. HELP!!! :D

Copy and paste the info from Windowblids "About Windowblinds" tab in the config window, and maybe post a screenshot along with that info so we can help.

Along with that info, please post a link to the skin you're trying to apply.

Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of 2.1
Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 2.1

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 7.3 (build 310 - Windows 7 Edition) - Shareware - 64 bit OS

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
(Generic PnP Monitor) 1 is attached to AMD Radeon HD 6570

Wbsrv.dll 2011/09/26 14:10:50
SevenConfig.exe 2011/11/01 17:21:18
Wbload.exe 2010/10/20 15:08:35
Wbhelp.dll 2011/10/04 09:01:37

I'm looking at this one https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/7556/ and I know its a little ambitious, but if I can get pointed in the right direction, I can usually figure things out on my own :)

Kind of sounds like PsyberMind might be talking about a Theme Manager Suite.

EDIT:  Never mind.  :sun:

You'll need the Stardock programs that can apply the other skins, such as IconPackager. You can find them (and demo) versions here:

Now the increased experience may help but also I don't think the shareware version of WB's will take advantage of all of the Windows 7 options.  I could be wrong on that.

Retry the skin now your WEI is correct.

Sounds like maybe dwm.exe wasn't running.

Also, you're running the shareware version which you installed and uninstalled (if I understood your OP correctly) and that might result in problems.

Also would advise contacting [email protected] . Wait for an actual person to respond. Keep the autoreply you'll receive and in your email to support, include the url of this thread.

Once you get WindowBlinds straightened out the other skins you'll need the individual programs for. Sysmetrix, Iconpackager, cursorFX etc.

A little bit redundant I think.
