Rip Patrol

Rip Patrol

Ok, I'm feeling like I'm on rip patrol this week, but in checking out visual styles for XP, I'm coming across all sorts of interesting items. Yesterday I found WC member's walls posted somewhere with no credit given. And today.......Alexandrie's Preluna skin sliced and diced into a visual style @ http://www.peakpeak.com/~nicks/themes.html There may some other interesting items there also. There's no contact info, but here's where the link came from http://www.neowin.net/bboard/showthread.php?s=2b515212848513d1fdea3d8a47da7ecb&threadid=4243

The established and respected skinning/art sites are not going to be a problem with rip control....gosh, even Nullsoft and Winamp.com are learning....[about time]...

The problem is always going to be new skin-related sites and new software that can be skinned/facilitates skinning.
StylesXP is by far the biggest potential problem for rip and copyright theft...

Maybe Alex should download the pre-luna styles rip, and upload it to their site as her own submission....then see exactly whose aurthorship is the more defensible.
When the ripped skin is removed, the issue is resolved...hehe...

There are a bunch of great resources on the web that seek to protect the copyright of digital artists. Maybe the skinning community should check some of these out:
