Brad Wardell, a good guy!

In light of recents posting I just wanted to step back and reflect on the real Brad Wardell. I've known Brad for many years and I hate to see it when people try to portray him as a negative person. So I just want to take a moment to tell you about the Brad I know.

Brad is a kind and generous person, I've seen him go out of his way many of times to help other people.

Brad works from home as often as possible so that he can spend more time with his wife and kids which he adores so much.

Brad makes business decisions that are based on whats best for his employee's and not necessarily for the company.

Brad is a fun guy to be around.

Brad takes time out of the day to not just play with his kids but also plays with the neighbors kids as well. Essential, he is a big kid himself.

Brad smells. (ok, so he's not perfect)

I think it's bad people are against him so much, he is a really nice persons, I don't know him as much as Pat, but for what I can tell, he is a great friend.

I have to thanks him today!
Thanks Brad for helping me so much...
Some people still support you my friend!

Well, he's always outside playing with those frogs, and well, he actually likes to jump in the pond with them on occasion. And then he usually ends up going about the rest of the day without taking a shower. So when you think of Frogboy, its more than you know!

T-Man I don't know Brad "personally", I used to have some serious doubts about his motives myself but now I just try to stay out of his business cuz it's not mine to worry about.

If I had to go home to him at the end of my day and sleep w/ the guy I might worry or be more concerned about him... hehe
"Especially" if Brad smells!!! hehe

one thing stands out to me though! he keeps the msg boards up for ppl to enjoy though everyone bashes the hell out of him on his very boards...

/me thinks enough is enough w/ it all & it's kind of sad to see anyone of the community that I know by their text that I read all the time, go at it w/ one another

but everyone loves the flame wars! so I guess carry onnnnnn =/

Those details for Brad are very interesting and the have improved the image of Brad, I know him a little but I think that he is a great guy. We appreciate your thread Pat, that's why the friends are for and I must say that you are a great guy too

Brad mentioned over at DA to Integer "the more visible a person is, the bigger the target they are. It's a fact of life."

Combine that with his shower habbits and you have a walking disaster.

Brad really is a good guy but unfortunately most of you mainly get to see Brad's business side and not his personal side. Or if you do see part of his personal side on the boards it is quite often interepted as having a hidden business agenda.

I agree with Pat. I have known Brad for a long time, and have worked here at Stardock for over 6 years.

He has always thought of his employees over himself, and has always been extremely modest in his own lifestyle. (He doesn't even drive a flashy car). He has helped out many of the employees who work here (financially) when he never had any obligation to.

Brad is a great guy to know and to work for, and all this "Brad" bashing is really getting on my nerves.

If people want to bash "Stardock" and give valid reasons for it, then that is one thing. But, for people to continually bash Brad as a person, it's just uncalled for.

And, he really doesn't smell that bad. A slight odor of cheese now and then, but nothing that a little cologne doesn't take care of

As MadIce quoted, I do agree that the more visible somebody is, the bigger target they are.

But, I also believe that there are a lot of people who need to take a step back and realize that there are real people behind these names. And, that there are a whole lot of employees at Stardock. Stardock is not just Brad, it's a whole bunch of people working 40+ hours a week to make this company the best it can be.

Another thing about Stardock is, Brad puts himself at the same level as any other employee. He even plays basketball with us! (OK, so it looks like the special olympics when we play... but we still play!)

Hmm... I didn't mean for that to be so long or so nice to Brad. I hope he doesn't get used to all this "nice" talk about him.....

I believe in man kind. Underline the word "kind". I do believe Brad is a terrific guy, I also believe loc is also a very nice person. Heck, even I am a nice guy. I don't believe anybody is evil. Oh some people are sick and need some intensive psychiatric help, but in their heart, nobody is a bad person. Those who believe in good and evil maybe watch TV a little too much.

Hey, just because I disagree with the entire censorship thing doesn't mean I personally have anything against him. He seems like a nice guy who's just trying to make a living, and have lots of fun doing it.

I don't know him personally, but I emailed him about my Wincusto hat and shirt, and he got back to me really quick and seemed like a nice guy.

Ok, I know that sounds lame, and granted.. I couldn't smell him through the computer or anything, but I'm willing to bet a large sum of money that he is not, in fact, a Nazi.

Good and Evil are a bit extreme. Paxx is right that there are no people totally evil. Right and Wrong are a bit closer to daily life. And l0c _knows_ he did the one or the other. His silence is noteworthy.

Funny part of the community today is that rants are excepted and threads like this are seen as fishy. Probably the Brad haters are even disgusted by this thread.

I can see that Brad loves his job. He is able to get that accross to the people that are working with him. All of them have that same love for their job.

They have to make a living and cannot live from thin air. There is is this weird notition that one doesn't need to pay for software like skinning tools (or software in general). Too bad. Those people have their freeware and open source and should be happy with what is there and probably most are. Others can buy products like HD, NS and OD. Why the hell need people to convince that one of the two systems is bad like it was some kind of a holy war? It is beyond me.

1- i've thought brad was a good guy since first speaking with him back on the skinzorg mb. i remember him being very classy, professional and approachable when people voiced problems with stardock. for a long time, i thought he was just 'one of the guys' at the company, and hoped he wouldn't get busted for spending too much time on internet message boards at work :]

2- although the thought and faith that there are no truly evil people is generous and comforting, it is not supported by the bare facts of history, or by an unshaded view of humanity as it is. there are a few who are selflessly saintly, many who are truly good, a mass who are indifferent to all but their own neighborhood of cares, some who are bad, and yes, a few who are truly evil.

People have no trouble finding 'targets' for hatred, envy, self-rightousness. In a perfect irony they all end up being a mirror of your own weaknesses if only you could see into yourself that clearly. Whenever you feel like bashing someone try to remember that somewhere down the road you will have to bash those very faults out of your own spirit. They irritate you because they are the parts of your own being that you cannot face honestly.

The recipient of the bashing usually has nothing to do with the actual crimes he's accussed of other than providing the basher with a convenient image to focus his internal rage out into the world. In this case that's overtly obvious as Brad is a kind man and a creative entreprenuer who draws this response by merely doing a good job and being successful.

To bring this vicious petty jealousy into what so many people claim is a community is proof of the lack of character and personal insight these 'community spokespeople' are cursed with.

If what I said is wrong it would only be because the actual motivation for the attacks is a personal agenda. That's the other (and decidely more devious) reason such things occur.

Are you opening a new site l0c? Doing some project that you feel would benefit from people rejecting WC or Stardock?

I'd prefer to think it's the other cause and you're really just temporarily full of shit like most people. But there is that possibility... you might actually be doing this for some sort of profit...

Do I really need to voice my support for Brad?

My actions and willing involvement in this site should suffice.

If he ain't aware of the general support he has out there then he's thicker than two short planks...

In Oz, we refer to the 'Tall Poppy syndrome'.....people will always want to cut you down if you get ahead. Unfortunately[?] for Brad, he has made a success out of what others 'try' to do as a hobby, and will forever be damned for that by lesser mortals.

Sorry to hear that he smells, though.....

High trees catch a lot of wind, and Paxx stole my lines. Froggy seems to have a target painted on his back. Hmm, chin up man, and kick back!

Hey.. I don't know, back in the days before even skinning community had a name, remember? When we were just making art and everyone was just happy to be part of it. When the idols were artists and skinners and NOT community guru gods. Just look at the msg boards, Jark cult over at DA that is ready to tare you to bits at any sign of discontent, and The boys club has now found a new 'saviour' in Brad. Whats next.. the Jafo cult following? ...Hmmm, actually I think he would rather enjoy that!
Anyhow, give me a break PPL, we all know Brad is a good guy!
Well, in all honesty, I do believe there was indeed a Shoggot cult as well. Not that he wasn't a remarkable person not that he didn't deserve his fanclub... I'm just saying that site gods aren't anything new.
Oh, and please note that the Shog man also did get his fair share of hate threads. I think theer even was a "I hate Shoggot" webring. Or maybe not...
The point is the more visible you are, the more people love you but the more more people hate you also.
