Modding Trinity on steam. Minidumps :(

So I bought Trinity on steam last week and love it. Started looking at mods and downloaded 7 deadly sins and Distant stars to add a little flare to the game. I put them in the folders by the spicify modpath button in the in game options tab. I enable either 7 or Distant stars, not both, then when I hit apply changes the screen fades a bit, freezes then I experience a mini dump. I have tried lowering the graphics with both mods, from hihg to low and everything in between but still no luck. I can't seem to find any other people on any google searches or youtubes videos explaining this. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The mods have to be updated to Diplomacy 1.34 before they will work.

Distant Stars has been. Unless he downloaded the wrong file.

As for 7 Deadly Sins, well yeah they are a bit behind. Still working on Entrenchment.

The next beta for 7DS will be newest Entrenchment.  I personally dislike diplomacy, but others love it.

Do you even own diplomacy?

Yes I have Trinity, but I hate diplomacy.  If Rebellion is really going to be mostly Diplomacy, there is a damn good chance I'm not buying it.

Ok, I was just sorta curious.

Diplomacy actually does open up quite a few modding possibilities. But really at this point I can't blaim you for waiting to see what Rebellion looks like for 7ds.

I don't care for the diplomatic art of diplomacy... more important is that a lot of the TSOP is included in diplomacy along with a bunch of Stardock own optimization... diplomacy run more smooth that entrenchment... can be beneficial for a heavy mod like 7DS...

Since 7ds 2.5 for entrenchment is always in beta... and with Rebellion released in a few month... it will be crazy to move to diplomacy now.... 2.5 is the move of 2.1 from sins to entrenchment... the planned 3.0 can be the move from entrenchment to rebellion, the last expension for sins...

well, whenever Rebellion comes out, just add 5 months and then modding can start.  :P

Not quite what I was thinking of. The more moddability has to do with the ability to define factional relationships which doesn't exist with Entrenchment. Hence you'll get the flood offering cease fires to Forerunners, etc.

Also, many new conditions, modifiers, etc were included that add new potential to mods.

Most the optimization was engine related with Diplomacy. They did fix some of the errors we found in the meshes and entity files. In fact the developers have disagreed with the all dds view in TSOP and apparently made no reduction in meshes.

As stated Stardock's optimizations improved the mods memory usage (~1.3gig) and definitely made it more smooth somewhat limiting the benefit of TSOP except on lower end systems.

I can imagine, it was enough of a long time between the 7ds previous release.
