I KNOW you guys are tired of this..

BUT, I'm hoping for an easy "Wow, I'm an Idiot" fix.

So, I download and extract, the & deadly Sins mod. Put it here C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods-v1.193\ start the game, check 'Enable mod" then....nothing. Please tell me I just have to click a few things, open this, click here and I'm done.

I'm running Vista 64Bit, Version 1.193 of Sins (Trinity) annnnd...anything else you need to know to help a guy out? Sorry, not much into the software aspect of computers.

Alright, if the mod is in the extra file, I can enable it, but nothing happens. Including no 'Accept Changes' button. If its NOT in the extra folder, I get a runtime error as soon as I click 'Enable Mod' and it closes Sins.

This Error, to be precise.

Take the mod folder out of the extra folders.

Paste it into the mod directory.

Go in-game.

Click 'Enable Mod.'

Click 'Apply Changes' in the bottom right.

Where am I supposed to see this? In the Options/ Mods page?

Not seeing 'Apply Changes' anywhere.

Options/ Mods page, yes.

Its directly below 'Move Mod Down,' at the bottom of the screen.

Hm...

No buttons at all? Then something's wrong on your end.

I forget, is 7DS made for original Sins? If it isn't, that could be your problem. I'll go check that out right now. Be right back.

Oh, wait, I just checked, original Sins doesn't have those buttons...

Then I guess you just click 'Enable Mod...'

Not sure why it isn't working.

All I can think of is that it could be out of date. Try harpo's mod updater to know for sure, just to be safe.

What resolution are you running your monitor at?

Well... 7DS has a forum thread on this site (simple search for 7DS returned it as top match).

https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/306277

Also, their main forum is here http://forums.danmangames.com/.

It helps to do some reading on the mod besides just downloading and drudging your way through trying to activate it. By example my mod would most likely mini-dump if you tried to activate it without first reading the instructions. 7DS also has some specific recommendations when it comes to memory/effects settings.

FYI, as you'll see when you read their main thread you should notice 7DS is currently for Entrenchment 1.05x. I'd also advise posting in their main threads if you want help from the modders that support 7DS.

This Runtime Error has me stumped. I mean, what the **** could be causing that? As soon as I remove the extra file and try to enable, BOOM, this error shows up and crushes my hopes and dreams.

First off, your hopes and dreams should not lie with a modification for a computer game.

Second, listen to ZombiesRus5. He's one of if not the best around here.

Third, well, you might need to update 7DS, like I said. That might fix it.

Fourth, and maybe you should do this first, try loading it in the Dev.exe, and post the error log. We might be able to help you with that.

The last final public release was 7DS 2.1 for sins 1.05 ... the actual beta release is 7DS 2.5 beta 5 for entrenchment before the last patch from one week ago...

You are running the original Sins. 7DS 2.5 won't work with that. Try running the Entrenchment.exe version of Trinity and that should make it work.
