I have Sins of a Solar Empire version 1.02 where can I find mods for it?
I want mods that work for single player, I do not do multiplayer.

That's an extremely outdated version. In fact if that is Original Sins of a Solar Empire I do not think that there are many mods for it, as mod support was not released until patch 1.05. I highly recommend that you update.
I have never understood why some people do not update Sins.
The answer to your question may lie with harpo's mod updater. I have no idea if it works in reverse, but if it does, there's your answer.

Well, i have a very old mod who add mines and torpedo who can be shoot by ship but 1.02 is too much new... it was a mod for the beta of the original sins, before public release... in fact, it was the first mod ever made for this game...

I don't think that it work in reverse... and if it do, it will not work with so old version... i think that it was around the 1.11 version that Stardock have switch the cl alpha with the da red... for downgrade a today mod to 1.02, you will need edit/modify .entity files but remake all the cl and da .dds map too...
By the way, if the guy have a legit version of sins, it is not a problem for update the game by register it and using Impulse...

Yes, if you want to get the new expansions as well. Most mods require the new expansion but a few don't, if you just want to update the original Sins without buying anything you'll need to register with your serial number on Impulse, then get the update for free.
However, if you want to get them, you can get them cheaper on Steam as its on sale, or if you don't want to deal with any digital download stores you can get it directly from Stardock as well.
The main advantage of the steam version is not only a cheaper price but you don't need to worry about updating when patch are released... it is fully automatic...
Steam version is sins+ent+dip... the Impulse bundle is only ent+dip... so, if you buy the steam version, you can perfectly give your previous sins version to a friend ( specialy if the serial was not yet used )...
