Oct. 2011 Barn Dance

In a tent....lol

Hey guys, I just thought I'd try my hand at uploading a vid from my tablet to YouTube.

This is a clip from last night's barn dance that I was DJ for. We had a blast!  The older fellow in the shot is my 80 year old Father In Law. He is the one who calls the squaredances and teaches the kids the linedances.

This is a dance sponsored by a local christian group called The Well.

Looks like good fun was had by all Jim.  My only question is, where's the barn?

Nice big tent though!

It usually takes place in a barn, but the barn was damaged by recent tornado activity. There was a bluegrass band playing in the barn, which is undergoing construction.

We all did have fun. The kids love it and the food was great!! They had a hayride, bonfire, made smores, there was a local BBQ restaurant owner catering the best pulled pork BBQ, there was kettle corn being made, corn on the cob being grilled.

It was in the upper 30's F so I'm glad there was plenty of hot cider and hot chocolate!

We had several hundred kids show up, it was a good night!

Who was the guy in the foreground with the mike. I went to one of those once back in the early 60's out on Long Island NY. It was called Amagansett, don't know if I spelled it right but, we had a blast and I got to watch my old man do his two step. what a riot.
