The WindowFX scripting language is in use in WFX5 yes.  There are some new functions of course and you will also be able to use .FX files for more advanced pixel shader and vertex work.

The beta has been pushed back into November as the WB, Tiles and DeskScapes updates ran a little late.

Animated explorer backgrounds are relevant to my interests and will be great if they can be synced to DeskScapes themes. Any chance this could work in Vista some time in the future, or is that not possible?

I am unclear on how animated explorer backgrounds link to WindowFX5?

I am also unclear about how animated explorer backgrounds would link to WindowFX5. Perhaps what is meant is the ability to choose something like a Deskscapes animated wallpaper for the explorer background (instead of as the desktop wallpaper)? That would be really cool, especially if it could be faded in the same manner as the textured explorer backgrounds available through Windowblinds (otherwise explorer window contents would probably be unreadable). Doesn't seem like WindowFX5 would be the program through which to implement that, though.

Oops, I was viewing the video in default size and thought I saw a normal windows explorer window with animation in the background. :X My bad. Still looks like some sweet features are being added.

Sweet! WindowFX was the reason why I go into Stardock, hehe I am so using WFX5 when it launches! Windows can be very boring with it's standard FX

Will the settings set in the nvidia 3D section have any effect on the performance on WFX5?  like vsync, triple buffering, threaded optimization?

What about those who use Windows 7 Starter, does this version of Windows prevent the program from working properly?

Windows 7 Starter lacks the DWM and so WindowFX5 will never run the animations on that OS.

Sorry.
