I think I broke it but I don't see what I did.

The only ideas I have are 

a) too many phase lanes on Player0 homeworld (15 phase lanes iirc)

b) too many items on several planets (1 artifact and 2 bonuses--should maybe be 1 artifact and 1 bonus?)

There is a minidump, yes. It crashes just as the load bar moves about a millimeter.

Where do I upload the mini dump?

I see you seem to want to be using this with the Sins plus mod or something that has it in it. Are you sure you have the mod enabled correctly?

Mod works fine.
I installed Sins, then installed Distant Stars Mod. Haven't had any issues until this map. So naturally, I have to assume its the map.

Yes. Map was made with Galaxy Forge.

And despite a reboot, Galaxy Forge is blowing up. Lags. Doesn't work right, etc.

Probably since 8 of those artifacts are old and don't do anything.  They're included because DS plays on multiple versions of the core game so a map created on those can still possibly work.

No, several of us are what could possibly considered Forge Experts...  But in this case, you just need to be patient.  Several things work against you when asking for help this last round.  First, it was on a Monday.  While many people will disagree, lots of us humans tend to not like the fact that our weekend is over and aren't so charitable.  Second, it was a holiday in the UK so that crowd was likely off doing something other then being on-line.  Third, in the US pro football has been on and had a great Monday night game, hence my reason for being MIA when I'm usually on.  Fourth, many of us have to work for a living.  Fifth, many are preparing to go back to school (my daughters start tomorrow!)

So you just gotta give it some time.

 

 

(Also Time Warner Cable, my internet provider, had a large regional internet outage yesterday for some time so even if I wanted to come on, I couldn't)

leuthesius, I have got your map working after striping out all of the sub-templates and groups from each of the planet entries, and the reason I did not work on your problem IS the monday and HUGE workload(but has allowed me to gain a significant amount of money(approx 1/3 my monthly average income in just three days and each of the three days was a 16 hour day so I am and was buggered when I got home each night)), regarding the templates it might be better to create your own planet forces template and have it in the map.

I'm too impatient sometimes. Please don't take that as (whats the word for it... a dick?).. or just being rude. I've got much of the same issues you all do, just a different schedule I suppose--I worked nights for the last two months and haven't yet managed to get my schedule back to "normal".

 

 

@ Harpo--what do you mean by subtemplates? All of the neutral defense forces protecting each world? Or something else?

Also, is there a way to specify a world as a human player world?

Possibly. Basically if you just added the planets and phase lanes without adding any custom groups it would have worked fine. That probably means you tried to add something that no longer exists in that mod, and thus the game crashes as it doesn't know what to do with it. It could be militias, bonuses, artifacts ect.

I would start by getting rid of all the artifacts then and see if that solves the problem. You can then start to figure out which ones are defunct after seeing if it will work with no artifacts.
