Stacks docklet

Is there an option in the stacks docklet that will create sub-stacks?  I currently use the flyout docklet as an apps launcher but it is very slow.  The problem with using stacks is I first subdivide the apps by category.  The flyout dock creates a ring of the categories and when I choose one an inner ring is created of the apps themselves.  With stacks, clicking on a category opens a folder window.  I'd like a stack with the apps to pop up next to or replacing the initial category stack.
