fault 0xc0000135

Several shortcuts have the result that I get the message ""cannot initialize this application, fault 0xc00000135"" and the cursor disappears under the message!! What's the reason, what's wrong and better: how does I solve this problem??

Thanks from the Netherlands, Tjalke Bergsma

What application fails to initialize? Which operating system are you using?

Was this application (whatever it was) working before?

You don't say what OS you are using but I found this about the error.

Windows error 0xc0000135 is displayed when an application fails to initialize properly. It is also displayed when a new program, game, or plug-in is installed and fails to work properly due to the wrong version of .Net being installed on the computer or as a result of a computer malware infection.

See this webpage for more info.  http://www.tech-faq.com/0xc0000135.html

several apps don't work: direct links from Outlook to open in Google Chrome and several shortcuts from Objectdock by example the shortcut wincustomize.com. I use Vista

How did this occur? Did your system become infected with viruses?

In light of your prior problem, I would suggest you do a thorough antiviral scan and also a scan with Malwarebyte's Antimalware (free on the net).

If this proves no malware detected, I would suggest you update your .NET version, as Wizard noted above, and tell us if you installed something new before all this happened.

You might also run chkdsk /f /r to find any file and sector errors you might have.
