Do You Share Skins from WinCustomize?

Hi folks!

I'm trying to get feedback on various parts of WinCustomize for future improvements, and am going to be asking questions about various things on WC.  If you can take the time to respond I would appreciate it as it will directly help with future updates of WC.

We have a "share" button on each skin in the galleries.

This gives you quick access to share a skin to Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, etc.

My question is do you use it?  If not, do you share skins any other way like a browser plugin or just directly?

Is there anything you would like to see in regards to sharing skins?

Thanks!

No / not particularly to all of the above. No need to work on that as far as I'm concerned :)

I share to FB once in a while.

Nope, hate social networking sites. >:(

I hadn't really noticed it... but I think I'll be sharing a good deal more - this is a GREAT way to get skinning more noticed.

No to all.

Me personally I never use those things...not a huge fan of facebook (especially those "like" buttons) or these other social sites. If I want to show someone something I use the old fashioned way of copying the link and pasting it in an email...that's about the extent of my sharing.

I agree with the majority ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I'm sorry but I never use the share system here. nor at DA. The simple reason is art theft. I believe that if someone wants to share their own skins all the power to them, the artist. I don't like the fact that someone can share my works at Facebook and Twitter. IMHO this feature should be improved, make it optional.

The share buttons on the skins and articles at WC just provides a link back to here (WC). It's a great way to spread the word about skins and skinning.

In addition to pimping my own stuff (bad as it is) I love posting the amazing stuff that real skinners make and hopefully drive new traffic (subscription $$) back to WC and Stardock.

In other words, you don't want people to see/download/use you work, unless they happen to stumple upon them on the sites they are uploaded to?
Besides, no actual files are shared by using the sharing system, just simply providing links to them.

Everytime someone, here at WC, for example in the 'Desktop screenshot threads' link to a skin in the WinC gallery it gets a 'referral point', providing the link is used.

I never got into Facebook and no one I know is into desktop customization, so there'd be no one to refer to.
