Applying Styles to individual programs

Can it be done?  And if not then what about at least the basic colors

I like to use a black background and a green font for Word documents and a few other applications, I do this via the "advanced appearance settings" in Windows 7, the problem is though I don't like the affect it has on several other applications I use. Now I know I can just change the colors of the page and font in word, but I'd really like to do it via the styles specific to a few applications if it is possible.
