desync issue in the latest version of Diplomacy

I have been trying to play SoaSE: Diplomacy fairly regularly with a few of my friends online, but we have been having desync issues in most of our games. As per the FAQ, I will send save game files to support the next time we notice this occur.

Is there anything I need to turn on in the settings to help debug the problem? From reading previous posts, I have made the following changes to my diplomacy.user file:

CalculateCheckSumTickFrequency 50
CalculateCheckSumDetail 3
SaveCheckSumSnapShotsInGameTickFrequency 0
SaveCheckSumSnapShotsOnSave TRUE
IsCheckSumLoggingOn FALSE
IsAutoRecordOn FALSE
IsAutoSaveOn FALSE

Is this what the settings should be set to for debugging purposes?

Also, is there a way to get some sort of desync error message that we can get to come up when the game is out of sync? Normally we just notice when neutral planets start changing names, when we notice a discrepancy in the location of a player's army, or when one player "wins" and appears to drop from the other player's perspective for example...

Okay some basic questions that might help the Devs or give a solution. Any mods? Have you played a game with all of you having autosave turned off (this sometimes helps with desyncs)? Is this on ICO or a LAN? Has it ever happened on the first game (some previous desyncs have only occurred after several games without exiting Sins)? Have any friends left/joined after the first game?

Also, while some desyncs do give an error, a lot of them don't, which is way they are such a pain. It can take a while to realize you even have one, let alone figure out what caused it.
