Google Chrome and Windows Blinds

Conflict error?

This started happening as soon as i installed windows blinds, which i paid a bit of money for, so a solution would be nice.

It might also be windows fx, i'm not sure.

When i leave the chrome window to go to another window, and then go back, the chrome window disappears for 1-10 seconds every time.  this is a major inconvience to me as i am a web developer and constantly change code, refresh a page, change code, refresh a page.

Has anyone found a fix for this problem?

I am not having this problem, I use Chrome, Pale moon IE9 and FF 4 for browsers. I do not use FX

I'd suggest you remove Windows FX and see if you still have issues. I haven't seen other reports of this problem and FX is not as widely used and Windowblinds.

It was Windows FX.

This makes me sad, i LOVED the effects that it gave me.

Don't know, but it might be a particular FX setting you are having trouble with.  If you're inclined you might try to get it narrowed down so you can use it otherwise.  Also, if you can figure out which setting is causing you a problem and let Stardock know they might be able to fix it.

I quit using FX when I re-did this machine. No particular reason. Don't really need it. I have become a Chrome convert and I don't think I'll go back to FF or IE anytime too soon. One might say I've gone over to The New World Google Order. I don't give a rat's ass. Chrome works very well on this machine. It's very fast. No problems at all so far. Has only been a few days. I've heard about the large memory usage but so far that hasn't been any sort of problem for me. I don't think any machine is exactly the same so how programs work on different machines can vary. Just what I see. Good luck in sorting it out.

Just taking Chrome for a spin as my workaday browser & I notice that the scrollbars don't skin properly on Chrome v 16.x, Win7Pro x64, WB 7.3 release (using essorant's Primavera skin).  Anyone else seeing this or know of a fix?  Skin specific issue or WB issue?

Thanks!

Using FF9 and having no problems. I change WB's at least once a day for different effects and have only one, Naked Noir, that I use as a 'work skin' . So far every WB I applied has skinned FF with no problems at all. Win7 Home premium 64 bit.

Oh ... and I've found that FF9 is faster, on my machine anyway, than Chrome or any other browser I've used. One thing though, add another reason to not like IE. It pops up when it wants to unexpectedly telling me that it isn't my default browser. Duh!

My titlebars and scrollbars do not skin properly in Chrome.  And my titlebar buttons disappear.  This happens with all skins.  So, I just excluded Chrome from being skinned.  Chrome has skins of their own, so I use one of those skins for the browser.  I like the browser too much to not use it.  I have the same version of Chrome as you do.

Thanks a bunch.  I'm trying Chrome for a couple of reasons.

Though I prefer PaleMoon and prefer to use a single browser, in addition to my usual browsing I spend all day on two Outlook Web Access sites which are functionally crippled (Thanks, MS!) on anything but IE.  I used IE Tab on prior versions of FF to open the OWA apps within the FF browser without any issues.

Since about PaleMoon6, however, IE Tab (even the most current) repeatedly crashes when using OWA.  I'm going to see if Chrome's IE Tab is more stable.  It's not as elegant or transparent as the PM plugin (adds its own bookmark bar to Chrome), but if it won't crash every 10 minutes it will be worth it.

Windowblinds Config > Settings > Per Application.  Click on the Add button at the bottom of that window, then scroll to the executable of chrome (chrome.exe), select it, then check the 1st option (total exclusion) that appears in the window that pops up.

Does anyone know why WB won't skin Chrome???

I have another application (SolidWorks) that won't skin either. Any idea why?

Chrome uses its own skinning engine.
