VLC crashed explorer and itself

Using it for the first time. WTF

First time I install a media I figured I'd go for a good one so I chose VLC. Installed without a problem. Load a DVD, hit play and boom. It crashed and took explorer with it. I checked the dvd/cd player on my laptop through Device Manager and it is working properly. Used twoo days ago to install Win7 Pro without a problem so why now.

Perhaps I should add the Windows Media Player didn't work either.

Haven't you had other problems too? Wipe it and start fresh, I just did and it's beautiful. Make sure you have good back up and you'll be glad you did it.

Its the first one since I did 'wipe' it three days ago. Brand new install.
