Can't Change Resolution

When I select the video settings the only setting is 1024 x 768.

My PC monitor is set at 1152 x 864.

I would have thought that like most games you have different reso's to chose from but this game only gives me just one.

I'm running Win 7 64bit with an ATI Radeon 4650 video card.

I believe(I am not sure) that Sins decides what resolutions are available to your video card, and displays them accordingly.

I have a very similar problem on a computer with a 256 mb video card, but a high-res screen.

Do you have an actual monitor driver installed and not the default windows PnP driver? The options Sins offers are based on what windows reports as available. Failing that, if you don't wish to use windowed mode, the resolution can be set manually in the user.setting files in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting.

I know my game is not running at 1920x1200 like it used to, and in game it doesn't even show what resolution it is running.  I suspect it is something like 800x600.  I cannot change resolution (because it has no resolutions listed) and the setting file says that it should be running at 1920x1200.

Even at the lower resolution, in which I would expect the game to run faster, it does not, likely due to laptops prefering to run at native resolutions.

I am unable to continue playing after about an hour because it pauses for 3 seconds after moving for 1 second, and I am thinking it is because of the resolution issue.

Any ideas on how to beat either my comp. or the software into submission?
