I want to add a custom sound clip to play when windows starts up and when windows shuts down as part of the theme I am creating. So far, I haven't found any documentation on changing the default windows startup and shutdown sound clips.

Oh I see. The only way I know how to change those sounds is in the XP Control Panel under Sounds and Audio Devices. I don't know how to add it to a Winstyle Theme

slamb from what I have experienced with the same sound ideas as you is that you can't. Now if anybody knows how other than using XP Control Panel as Essencay suggests I would love to know how to get that part to work. What I found out is that WB skins (again, if I'm wrong please help) unless the author included them in the skin stops the startup and shutdown sounds from working but the other sounds work.I posted this same type of question some time back and I didn't get much response.

Hmm, may be a nice feature for the next Object Desktop release.
