Toggle Autohide Button

Hi

A couple of years ago I used dock, pretty sure it was Object Dock, not sure if it was the free or paid version (it was my ex's PC).

He used to have a button on the dock that would toggle the autohide for that dock on or off.

I now have my own PC :) And would like to use object dock on it.

I have the free version at the moment but am considering purchasing the paid license.

However I cannot find any option to add a toggle autohide button to the dock.

So I am wondering, perhaps I was mistaken and he had some other dock on his PC?

Or maybe this feature has been removed in newer versions of Object Dock?

Or maybe it is only available in the paid version?

Can someone please let me know before I buy, thank you very much

I'm not aware of a docklet that does this, but you can always right-click on the dock -> View -> Autohide.

ahh ok well I googled and found this page from 2007, https://forums.stardock.com/151110/page/1/ titled "ObjectDock gets a face lift in v1.9". Which says:

"New "command entry" abilities! You can now create a dock item to toggle autohide on and off, or toggle hiding/showing the taskbar. Very useful!"

I can't find this feature in Object Dock 2, has it been removed?  Or only available in paid version? Are there any plans to include it again?

I know I can right click the dock and click view > autohide but it would be much more convenient to be able to simply click a button once to turn autohide on for a few seconds, sometimes I need to click something at the bottom of a page and the dock is in the way.

You can always set the position of the dock so that it sits up top and out of the way. That's what I do.

I think it will be more "in the way" at the top, for me :P

I much prefer my dock to be at the bottom.

Anywayy... so I guess it looks like they removed this feature for some reason? :(

Shame, 'cos I found it really handy -_-

IS there some hot key to toggle autohide?

welll I am happy to say that with more googling, thanks to a blog post from 2005 (!!!) I have found how to get the toggle autohide button back in 2.0

"- You can configure ObjectDock via command line arguments. Replace n with a
number (see descriptions for info) for the new status desired:

objectdock.exe -ahn (turn on/off autohide, n=0-off, n=1-on, n=2-toggle)"

So I just made a new "Blank Shortcut" to Object dock exe and added the "-ah2" switch. Works fine.
