Apparent incompatibility with latest release of WindowBlinds and Firefox 3.6.15 & Thunderbird 3.1.8

There appears to be an incompatibility issue between the latest release of WindowBlinds (sorry, I dont' have the version/build number at hand b/c I had to uninstall it, but it was the one that was current as of March 7, 2011) and the latest releases of Firefox (v. 3.6.15) and Thunderbird (v. 3.1.8). I installed all of these upates more of less simultaneously, and then found I was suddenly unable to right-click on an image in either my browser or e-mail client and use the "Save As" option. In addition, I was unable to right-click and download files from the Web, be they videos, executables, ZIP files, or whatever. What's more, I lost the ability create attachments for outgoing e-mails. All of these functions are critical to me, and not having use of them greatly diminishes the utility of my browser and e-mail client. Also, my mouse cursor changed into the most peculiar-looking icon; don't know where that came from. I decided to unistall WindowBlinds to see if that might be the offender, and lo and behold all my downloading and attaching capabilities were restored (although the odd cursor remained unchanged). I like using WindowBlinds, but if it's going to cause these kinds of problems, I simply can't, and won't re-install it until these incompatibility issues are resolved. Don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this problem or not, but I thought I should report it. My OS is 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate.

This probably should have been posted under Stardock Support.  If someone from Stardock doesn't respond I would suggest emailing [email protected]

I don't use FF but is the latest update a final release or a beta release?  You could always try rolling back to the previous release of FF and see if that fixes the problem between it and WindowBlinds.  I have seen a few other folks having problems with the new FF release.  In one case the person did a new install and did not add any browser addons or toolbars and I believe it fixed the problems.

Worth a try.

Firefox 3.6.15 is the newest update to the browser but I think something is wrong with the last two or three updates. With version 3.6.12 I had no problems at all. From version 3.6.13 on up the problems started. first with add-ons, then with other things. Opera is looking better and better as time goes on. I haven't had any issues with Windowblinds though. Running Win7 64 bit.

I am running the absolute latest versions of Firefox and Windowblinds on Windows 7 64 bit and see no issues whatsoever.

Not seeing that problem, novascott. Thake Hankers' advice, but realize it's the weekend and you won't hear back from a person until Tuesday at the earliest, most likely.

I'm using FireFox 3.6.15 and the latest WindowBlinds and everything's working beautifully here.

(Windows 7 64-bit)

There were some odd things happening a few days ago.  It ended up being that WinPatrol was causing issues.  I had to uninstall the program.  So, you may want to check your security programs to make sure nothing is conflicting.

I would try a reboot.

There is a bug in Windows 7 where file dialogs break sometimes after a theme change (not WB related)
