I'm assuming this is related to your last post. I've really never heard of this before, but go to your GalaxyForge folder and open the maps you have there in Notepad. They should all have this as the second line.
versionNumber 3
If it has any other number there, you need to update your map (search Harpo's map updater) before you do anything.
Yes I used Harpo's map updater. I will look to see if they are all good though. I suspect that maybe I'm just unlucky. I just really didnt want to lose a map that I had worked on for so long.
I used the map updater yet the map will not even open in Galaxy Forge 3 yet if I dont update it it still opens in the original galaxy forge. So there must be something wrong going on here. I just cant for the life of me work out what it is.
Ok I just tried to open an updated map in Galaxyforge3 and got the follwing
"Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click QUIT, the application will close immediatly. External component has thrown and exceotion"
Is there any way you could upload the original somewhere so that we could get a copy of it and have a look? It'd be much easier then just guessing at what the problems could be.
as stant suggested we need to look at the map's galaxy file to help you.
it sounds like the map after the updater has run is damaged, but as I had tested the latest version and all previous versions of the map updater with each map format version and PLAY TESTEd the test maps during the development of the map updater, it might be best to put both the old version and the new version in an achive and upload the archive somewhere and post a link to it so we can help
