Gallery.Live.com crippled

What's the deal with Microsoft?

Remember when people said that Microsoft's customization site, Gallery.Live.com was going to kill off sites like WinCustomize?

Well, over the past couple of years it's gotten more and more crippled to the point that they're not even hosting Live add-ons anymore. That's right, Gallery.LIVE.com isn't hosting Microsoft LIVE based content anymore.  Unbelievable.  I use Live Writer regularly and it's a big bummer that Microsot seems to be abandoning their various sites.  

Check out the various Microsoft related blogs on Spaces while you're at it. There's places where there's just errors as if it is some old dot-com site that ran out of funding.

This is a big pet peeve of mine of modern Microsoft. They jump into something and then abandon it.

Myself, never got into all of the Windows Live stuff.  I do agree though if you are Microsoft, you need to follow through with what you start.  :S

This unfortunately has been the way of Microsoft, lately, imo

Happens all the time, nothing unusual.  I've got a lot of software on my computer that has been abandoned by various creators, some of it's shareware and some of it's not.  I really can't kick MS in particular for that.

Normally I would agree with you DaveRI but Microsoft has used some of this stuff to convince folks to upgrade their OS and then they never follow through.  I'm thinking of some of the stuff they promised folks to step up to Vista and one of it's many versions.

That happens from time to time from other creators as well, and ya it is disappointing when it's something you're interested in.  There is something to the state of Missouri's motto "Show Me"  \o/   I don't mind kicking MS from time to time, there's usually a good reason or two out there, just trying not to use them as a whipping boy.
