Email spamming

I just purchased Icewind dale 2 last Friday. I didn't receive an email telling me where to download or get the serials (as I was told I would) and it wasn't appearing in impulse... after waiting over the weekend and seriously contemplating a charge-back I sent an email to support. Whilst waiting for a reply I did some research on the forums and found the solution to my problem - there was some registry entry in the impulse program which wasn't working properly. So with help from the forums I fixed the problem (thanks). I have since been bombarded with 160 auto response emails (in the last 12 hours) and this is still going as we speak. I just checked my email account and there's 10 more waiting for me.  This is beyond ridiculous and I have to say that my first experience with impulse and Stardock has been far from pleasant.

Getting back to the purpose of posting in the support section: Please stop sending me auto response emails.

If you received 160+ auto-response emails it presupposes you sent 160+ emails TO Support.

If that is NOT the case then it may be a server-side issue....either due to your Mail server, or pehaps Stardock's.

There IS NO other reason for 160 communications of any sort....;)

Edit:  Oops....sorry, I realize this is a support thread.

I didn't send them 160 emails, I sent 1 email, then I replied to my ticket ID to let them know that I had resolved the issue. I now have a folder entitled "Stardock harassment" and we can add another 10-15 emails to the tally since I posted earlier.

OK, so it will be a mechanical error of some sort... a 'send' instruction from one end or other being read as a repeat input rather than a single key-press.

Example..... press the "." key once and you get .

Hold it down and ....................................................................................................................................

If, perhaps the action of sending [or responding] is a stuck input it will be read as multiple sends.

Another possibility is spoofing of an email [Stardock isn't the respondent at all, other than the first entry/instance] and your email acc is compromised.

Thanks for your help and comments Jafo (and to a lesser extent Redneckdude  ) - Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

On a side note, once the registry issue was fixed, installation was quick and hassle free not to mention that I couldn't buy Icewind dale 2 in any stores around Perth Western Australia, so there are still some positives to focus on - just a pity things started as they did.

Well....if ya gotta be hanging out west in WA you're only barely in the 20th century...;)

I do see a few Stardock games available over in the 'real' side of Oz....typically EB Games ....;)

Must admit tho....this side of Oz might yet sink....with all the flooding....;p
