Question about a planet marking on map

So sorry, but I cannot find in the manual nor through searching this answer. On the galaxy map, when moused/clicked on a planet, there will sometimes be a triangle type marking on it. For example, on my capital I usually get one on the left and on the right.

Is this merely and indicator of some maxed item, like logistics or infrastructure?

I'm curious because on the world builder, some starting planets had these icons but in a different place, either on the bottom of the planet or at some angle.

Thanks!

Triangles on the side are capital planets. One on the bottom indicates the planet has an artifact.

Thanks! I had read the manual but it did not specify what those markings are. Thanks Kitkun for the info!

Note that capital or "home planets" are very important.  They are the center of an empire's economy from which allegiance spreads (and decreases the further away a planet is from it in terms of phase jumps).  The loss of a home planet can be devastating.  When a home planet is lost, allegiance (and money/resource production) on the planet starts to decrease to 25% (or 35% if it's in friendly culture).  In some circumstances it might even make sense to designate a new capital planet (move your capital) so that you can have higher allegiance on more planets if it's more centrally located (by a significant margin) amongst the bulk of your empire.
