Google Chrome doesn't work when launching it from a flyout menu

Greetiings!

I keep a few different web browsers on hand and I just added Google Chrome.  I really wanted to take it for a test drive to see how it stacks up against Firefox.  I'm a die hard Firefox fan.

I added this to a flyout menu that I already have.  The app starts but is un-responsive.  Unsure why!  I looked at the short cut from the program files menu within window and it's identical.  There are no arguments going in and I even copied the "Start In" .. Re-launched the Chrome and still no luck.  App starts but is un-responsive.

I was wondering if anybody else has encountered this behavior and is there a fix to it?

Thanks for reading!

I couldn't reproduce this. Are you experiencing this with ObjectDock v1.9 or v2.0? Which version of Chrome are you experiencing this with?

OD 2.0 and the latest build of Chrome.

Watch .. it was a quick and dirty video.  I had narrated it but have got no clue to were my voice went.  No loss your ears didn't need to hear my noxious sounds. =}

I first open Chrome up through the Program Menu which does ok!

Next I open it through the OD fly out menu.  Not sure why the recording was having problems with the desktop animations, but hey!  You'll notice the windows error which I ok and then try to click a bookmark.  Nothing happens.

I then re-launch thru OD fly out menu.  No windows error this time but it's still unresponsive.

Lastly I re-launch using the Program Menu which Chrome works fine.

That's odd...as I only access Chrome via OD's tabbed dock with no issues at all.

I tried to replicate your setup as closely as possible, but still couldn't reproduce this. Perhaps there is something wrong with your ObjectDock installation. Try verifying ObjectDock through Impulse.  If you need to, you may download Impulse here: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe .  Once Impulse is installed it will give you the option to create an account if you haven't already.  If you already have an account, but forgot the password, Impulse also will give you the option to retrieve your account information. To verify the application through Impulse:

-Launch Impulse.  Hold down shift, and right click on the entry for the application and choose "Verify Installation"

-Impulse will check the integrity of the installed application.  You should be given feedback as to the state of the installed application.

-If errors are found, an update should be made available in Impulse.  This is not an update to a newer version, but simply Impulse using the update mechanism to replace corrupted files.

-Once the update completes, reboot your PC.

If that doesn't do the trick, you should create a support ticket by writing in to [email protected], referencing this forum thread.

One 'vague' possibility is the icon shortcut in your dock is not quite right.

Bin it and copy/paste/drag/drop a new one.....from the start menu that DOES work....;)

Jafo,

I am having the same problem with Google Chrome. I tried your last suggestion and that didn't work either!
