this is happening for the exact same reason that Tasmania doesn't float away. Victoria sucks 
The heat caused a bubble to form under the court covering which is why the ball didn't bounce. 
Just glad I don't have to walk out on that tennis court.... got more than enough issues with gravity as it is. Example, my chest slipped and now resides where my belly used to be. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
What's more, look what it does to tennis balls... um!! All I can say is... er, that official bloke was game.

Happened due to "F.F.S.", and a rather severe case of it, unfortunately.
To the uninitiated, "F.F.S." means "Fat Finger Syndrome".

Stick figures are a woefully misunderstood minority and causing them undue anguish is ..... is ..... I guess you had to be there. 
A bit like jogging, I guess, but hanging upside down like that might help relieve the back ache for a while.
I was there, and though I'm a bit rotund myself, I did offer to be president of the Stick Figure Association and try to help them get more recognition. And the first 2 members are Twiggy and Calista Flockhart, so their high profiles will aid in that endeavour. I just hope we don't get too many of those models with eating disorders signing up, it might present the wrong image...
However, while it would darken the association's image, there'd be all the more food for the rest of us.
Now I know why I always ran for cover when I saw granny running toward me for a cuddle.
